Route 29 between Routes 518 and 546 has remained closed following Monday's storm
UPDATE: Route 29 in Hopewell reopens after storm repairs
HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP -- Route 29 in Hopewell remains closed as utility crews continue working to repair the downed power lines, but officials do not know if it will be reopened by Wednesday's morning rush hour.
The road has been closed from Route 518 in Lambertville to Route 546 (Washington Crossing-Pennington Road).
Emergency management officials said that although JCP&L estimates that power could be restored by midnight, Verizon has to follow with its own repairs.
The resource center that opened at Union Fire Company & Rescue Squad's firehouse will close at 9 p.m. Potable water will be available at the firehouse and the township's Public Works until Wednesday morning.
JCP&L customers who are still without power can pick up free water and ice at the following locations:
- ShopRite, 2555 Pennington Road, Pennington
- ShopRite, 3166 Route 22, Branchburg
- ShopRite, Walmart Shopping Plaza, 50 Route 513, Clinton
- ShopRite, 276 Route 31, Flemington
- ShopRite, 120 Route 22, Phillipsburg
- ShopRite, 384 Route 57 W, Washington
- Village Supermarkets Wakefern, Route 31 North, Washington
- ShopRite, 2 Clubhouse Drive, Washington
