An argument between Sean Mobley, 30, and his girlfriend over infant turned physical
TRENTON -- A Trenton man has been charged with making terroristic threats and other offenses after police say he threatened and repeatedly hit his girlfriend.
Sean Mobley, 30, was charged with simple assault, making terroristic threats, unlawful possession of a gun, possession of weapon for an unlawful purpose and criminal coercion.
On Monday at about 4:09 p.m., Officers Samuel Gonzalez and Jorge Mejia responded to the 800 block of Parkside Avenue on a report of a domestic assault in progress. They also received information that the suspect, later identified as Mobley, was armed with a handgun, police Lt. Stephen Varn said.
Police met with the 32-year-old victim, who told police that she and Mobley had gotten into an argument over their infant, Varn said.
The verbal dispute turned physical when Mobley allegedly grabbed her by the neck, slammed her on the ground, hit her with his fists and threatened her with his gun, Varn said.
The woman was eventually able to escape the apartment and run to another to call police.
Officers then went to the apartment where Mobley was and found him with the infant and a gun in plain view only a few feet from where he stood. The baby, who was unharmed, was turned over to police and Mobley was arrested, Varn said.
