The motorcyclist only had minor cuts and scrapes when authorities arrived at the crash on Burlington Path Road.

UPPER FREEHOLD -- A township man escaped serious injury Thursday when he was thrown from his motorcycle after colliding with a utility wire downed by a hay baler, police said.

The motorcyclist, James Hollender, 28, of Cream Ridge, only had minor cuts and scrapes when authorities arrived at the 4 p.m. crash on Burlington Path Road, New Jersey State Police spokesman Trooper Alejandro Goez said.

Hollender drove right into a telephone wire, which hit him in the neck and knocked him backward off the bike moments after the baler pulled down the wire, Goez said.

No other damage occurred to the pole, or baler, Goez said.

The New Egypt First Aid Squad took Hollender to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton for treatment.
