TRENTON -- A 26-year-old man was wounded in the groin during a burst of gunfire in Trenton East Ward late Wednesday.
Trenton police said the man reported he was walking in the 400 block of Monmouth Street when someone started shooting at him just before midnight.
The man suffered a wound to his groin and was taken to a city hospital for treatment.
No arrests have been made and no possible motives were made public by police.
The city's joint Shooting Response Team is investigating.
The shooting is the fifth this week in Trenton.
Two men were wounded in a drive-by shooting at Stuyvesant and Hoffman avenues Tuesday afternoon.
And police are also investigating two shootings on Monday night that wounded men on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and South Logan Avenue.
