The fire was called in at a 2nd floor apartment around 8 p.m. Friday
TRENTON - Firefighters responded to flames that started in an empty apartment Friday afternoon.
They were called to the 1100 block of Stuyvesant Avenue around 8 p.m. Friday for a report of a blaze in a second floor apartment, according to firefighters. No one was in the apartment when firefighters arrived to see flames in the living room. They quickly extinguished the fire and discovered the apartment's resident had been blocks away from the building when it started. No one else was in the apartment when the fire broke out.
Firefighters had not determined a cause by Saturday afternoon but they said the flames started in the middle of the living room on the floor and did not spread to other apartments.
