An investigation into the shooting that wounded Naquian Davis, 23, led to his arrest on the first block of Evans Avenue Thursday morning, Lt. Stephen Varn said.

Davis on Aug. 11 told police he was walking with two friends on the 300 block of Brunswick Avenue when he heard gunfire and realized he had been struck, Varn said.

But an investigation found that Davis was involved in a robbery when he was shot, Varn said.

Davis and two friends had met with others on Brunswick Avenue under the pretense of buying a motorcycle. Davis and his two friends instead tried to steal the motorcycle. Shots were fired. Davis was struck in the back and legs, Varn said.

Davis' two friends helped him into a passing taxicab, which took him to Capital Health Regional and Davis was interviewed by police there, Varn said.

The investigation continues and Davis' friends are still being sought, Varn said.

Davis' bail was set at $250,000, according to police records.
