The new charges brought against Dymir Leonard, 19, a man accused of shooting two people in August of 2015, were filed after investigators got new information in the case recently. That included surveillance footage from the area of the shooting, information on shell casings found at the scene and new information from witnesses, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office.
Leonard was charged with attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and two counts of aggravated assault on June 15.

The shooting happened in the mid-afternoon on August 28 when officers arrived at the first block of Sanhican Drive and learned that seven shots had been fired in the area, the prosecutor's office said. During their investigation police got a call from Capital Health Regional Medical Center about two people who had come into the hospital with gunshot wounds.
One was shot in the hand; another was shot multiple times in the back, the prosecutor's office said.
Leonard was arrested two months later on drug charges and police searched his home. In addition to heroin and marijuana, police discovered a .25-caliber handgun, a .40-caliber handgun and a .380 semi-automatic pistol that had been reported stolen.
Leonard had a court appearance scheduled for Monday morning. His bail was set at $250,000. A mugshot was not available for Leonard this week.
