John Carlos Salas, 31, of Bronx, N.Y., is being held on $350,000 bail
TRENTON -- A Bronx, N.Y., man is facing drug charges after police seized heroin and cocaine worth more than half a million dollars, authorities said.
John Carlos Salas, 31, was arrested and charged Sunday with possession of controlled dangerous substance and intent to distribute. He is being held on $350,000 bail.
Salas' arrest follows a one-month investigation by the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force.
Officers had set up surveillance in the area of the 600 block of South Clinton Avenue. At about 2:40 p.m., they saw Salas drive a 2016 white Ford Fusion into the area of the Roebling Market, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said. Once he was in the parking lot, officers detained him.
A search of his car turned up about one kilogram of heroin valued at $140,000, about five kilograms of cocaine valued at $500,000 and $1,015 in cash, authorities said.
