The 17-year-old said he was standing on Chambers Street Saturday when he heard gunfire and felt a burning sensation in his leg.
TRENTON - A teen came into the hospital Saturday evening with a gunshot wound to his leg, according to police.
The shooting happened around 6 p.m. as the 17-year-old was standing on the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Chambers Street, Trenton police Lt. Stephen Varn said.
The teen said he heard the sound of gunfire and felt a burning sensation before he looked down at his left leg and realized he'd been shot.
He called family members who took him to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was being treated Saturday evening.
Police were called to the hospital and began investigating the shooting. They did not have any suspects by 10 p.m.
The shooting was the second in Trenton in two days. On Friday evening three people were transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds after a possible personal dispute in the city.
Police do not know if the two incidents are connected.
