Two Hamilton men were charged with a Robbinsville robbery Thursday
ROBBINSVILLE - Two Hamilton men have been charged in connection with a robbery Thursday during which two teenage girls say they were held at gunpoint.
The men, Sean Albertson, 18, and Matthew Fryar, 20, were arrested Friday by Robbinsville and Hamilton police, according to a statement from Robbinsville police.
Albertson was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and distribution of a controlled substance. Fryar was charged with robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and theft.
The charges came a day after two teenage girls said they were robbed at gunpoint. The 16-year-old and 17-year-old girls said they were in a wooded area near a cul-de-sac on Line Road in Robbinsville Thursday afternoon when a masked man pointed a gun at them and stole their purses, police have said.
After the arrests Friday, police searched a home on Samuel Street and found the gun they believe was used in the robbery, the statement said.
Robbinsville police said they were not releasing information on how they discovered Albertson and Fryar or whether the men knew the teenaged girls. However police did say Friday that they don't believe the robbery was a random act.
Alberston posted bail and was released but Fryar remained in jail on a $100,000 bail Saturday. He was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Facility.
