Akee Harris allegedly killed 22-year-old Edwin Saddler in June 2015.
TRENTON -- A Trenton man charged last summer with stabbing a man to death in the city's West Ward has been indicted on murder and related weapons charge, authorities announced.
A grand jury indicted Akee Harris, 27, of Ellsworth Avenue on a count of first-degree murder, and counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Harris allegedly killed 22-year-old Edwin Saddler in June 2015.
Authorities have alleged that Harris stabbed Saddler several times during a fight on Ellsworth avenue on the night of June 23, 2015.
Police officers found Saddler suffering multiple wounds shortly before midnight and he died about eight hours later the next morning at a city hospital.
Meanwhile, Harris went to Capital Health Medical Center in Hopewell around midnight June 23 with a cut hand - which investigators say he incurred in the fight.
Harris was apprehended a few days after killing at a relative's house in Trenton.
He is currently free on $250,000 bail.
Assistant Mercer County Prosecutor Mary Sparkman presented the case to the grand jury.
