Trenton firefighters responded to a fire that began on the 500 block of South Clinton Avenue
TRENTON -- A two-alarm fire that began in a vacant Trenton house spread to a neighboring home, displacing two women, a fire official said.
Firefighters were dispatched to the 500 block of South Clinton Avenue at 4:16 p.m. after receiving a call from police officers who drove past the scene, Battalion Chief Frank Siedel said.
They arrived to find heavy fire burning from the second and third floors of a vacant home, Siedel said.
Firefighters then noticed more flames in the connected apartment and pulled the second alarm at 4:39 p.m., Siedel said.
The blaze was brought under control a little after 5 p.m. and officially put out by 6:20 p.m.
No one was injured, Siedel said.
The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation, he said.
