Flash, a 15-month-old purebred bloodhound, will join Restuccia after three months of daily training at the Cape May County Sheriff's Office K-9/Bloodhound Academy.

The hound will serve as a tracker for the sheriff's office, specializing in the pursuing the human scent of lost or missing persons, criminals and fugitives, according to the office.

Flash, who came to the sheriff's office from a York, Pa. family, will live with Restuccia and his family, as well as retired sheriff's K-9 Matilda and Stella, the Restuccia's family dog.

Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler is eager for what the tracker will add to the team.

"Our K-9 Unit has grown into a well-trained specialized group. We are pleased and welcome Flash on our team," he said.
