The Crisis Ministry of Mercer County earned a perfect 100 score from Charity Navigator for its charitable practices.
TRENTON -- The Crisis Ministry of Mercer County is one of 51 charities in the nation to receive a perfect 100 score from Charity Navigator, the organization announced.
The ministry, which also earned its fifth consecutive 4-star rating from the evaluator, is a nonprofit organization that works to improve the circumstances of low-income Mercer County households.
"We are thrilled with these results," said Executive Director Carolyn Biondi. "It is important to demonstrate that we use our donors' contributions wisely," she added.
"Their generous support of our mission ensures people's basic needs and promotes families' stability and well-being. Our 4-star Charity Navigator rating shows that our good governance and financial accountability promotes the Crisis Ministry's long-term stability as well."
The Crisis Ministry was founded in 1980 by Nassau Presbyterian Church and Trinity Episcopal Church in Princeton. The organization operates out of Nassau Presbyterian Church and at two locations in Trenton's downtown and Chambersburg neighborhoods.
In 2014, the ministry served over 4,000 households with food, nutrition, education and health screening. It worked to stabilize the shelter situation of 700 families that year, by providing financial assistance on housing bills.
Only one other New Jersey charity, Adler Aphasia Center in Maywood, received a perfect score.
