TRENTON -- Police arrested a Lawrence man Monday evening on charges alleging he robbed a woman earlier in the day and pushed a child to the ground during the attack, police said.
Zachry Waters, 33, of Allegheny Avenue in Lawrence, allegedly shoved a woman to the ground from behind - along with her 4-year-old nephew - as she walked on Hobart Avenue, police said.
The robber grabbed $140 in cash from the woman's pocket during the 11:45 a.m. crime.
Neither victim was seriously hurt in the robbery, police said.
The woman reported the robbery to police, and called her boyfriend.
A short time later, the woman's boyfriend spotted Waters on in the area of South Clinton Avenue and Hamilton avenues, and officers detained him.
Later Monday, Detective John Avanzato charged Waters with robbery and endangering the welfare of a child. He was initially held on $50,000 bail.
