TRENTON -- City firefighters were battling a 3-alarm fire on South Clinton Avenue Thursday evening in which flames shot from the roof of a two-story building.
Fire companies were still on scene at 9:45 p.m. of an active fire in a two-story building.
The blaze started at about 8 p.m. in the 500 block of the street, between Butler and Elm streets.
The structure houses Lira's Grocery Deli on the first floor.
Flames shot from the top of building at about 9 p.m. and firefighters used two ladder trucks to access the roof.
The fire sent a considerable amount of smoke wafting through the entire block of the street.
Information about the building's occupancy was not immediately available.
