Memorial Day parades and ceremonies in Mercer County

Monday is Memorial Day. Here are the events taking place in Mercer County this weekend.

Communities in Mercer County will mark Memorial Day with parades, remembrance ceremonies and other activities. The events are listed below.

SATURDAY

LAWRENCE Memorial Day Parade and Services, 10 a.m. Saturday, begins at Lawrence High School parking lot, continues down Princeton Pike North to Darrah Lane and ends in Lawrence Veterans Park. Memorial services will be conducted in the park.

PRINCETON Memorial Day Parade, march organized by Spirit of Princeton, 10 a.m. Saturday, begins at the corner of Princeton Avenue and Nassau Street and ends at Princeton Monument Hall, where a short ceremony will follow at 11 a.m.

SUNDAY

MERCER COUNTY Memorial Day Observance, ceremony organized by county's Department of Veteran Services, 11 a.m. Sunday in the Field of Honor section at Greenwood Cemetery. Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes and retired U.S. Marine Corps Col. Walter Conner will deliver remarks followed by a wreath-laying, 21-gun salute, playing of taps and benediction.

HOPEWELL BOROUGH Memorial Day Parade, 1 p.m. Sunday, begins at Taylor Terrace and ends at Hopewell Elementary School.

MONDAY

EWING Memorial Day Ceremony, organized by the Ewing Township Patriotic Committee, 11 a.m. Monday at the Maj. Gen. Betor Veterans Memorial Park.

HAMILTON Memorial Day Parade, march organized by Groveville Memorial Parade Committee, 8:30 a.m. Monday, begins at South Broad Street and Sunnybrae Boulevard, continues down Church Street and ends at Main Street in Groveville

HAMILTON Memorial Day Parade, march organized by Nottingham Fire Company, 10:30 a.m. Monday, begins at Nottingham Way and Shady Lane, continues down Nottingham Way to Coleman Road and ends at Nottingham Fire Company

HIGHTSTOWN-EAST WINDSOR Memorial Day Parade, 9 a.m. Monday, begins at Stockton Street, continues through the center of town and ends at the VFW on Dutch Neck Road for refreshments. Five wreaths will be placed throughout the parade route. The grand marshals are Hightstown's Joel McKay and East Windsor's Alvin Miller.

PENNINGTON Memorial Day Parade and Concert, organized by the borough's Parks & Recreation Commission, 11 a.m. parade begins at the Hopewell Valley Regional School District's administration building and ends at The Pennington School tennis courts. The concert on Howe Commons starts at 5:30 p.m.

WEST WINDSOR Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony, organized by the township council, mayor, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, 11 a.m. Monday, begins at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South and ends at the municipal complex, where ceremony will follow at noon.
