The university was alerted to the weapons after a photo emerged on Facebook of the student holding weapons and his thesis.
PRINCETON - A photo of a Princeton University student holding his thesis and an assortment of weapons led police to search the student's Little Hall dorm room last weekend.
There they found a myriad of weapons including two pellet guns, a wooden sword and a bow and arrows, according to a statement from the university.
Public safety officers confiscated the weapons after a search Sunday. The student suspected of posing in the photo and owning the weapons was away from campus by the time officers searched his dorm, the statement said.
The school was first told about the weapons by another student who said she saw the picture on Facebook Sunday.
The picture looked like it was taken in a Princeton University dorm room, the statement said.
Officers turned the case over to the university to determine whether disciplinary action should be taken.
