TRENTON - A suspicious fire in a row house on Stuyvesant Avenue was doused early Monday before it spread to other homes, officials said.
Firefighters arrived on the 800 block of Stuyvesant and found flames jutting out of the first floor of a row house, Fire Chief Gus Takacs.
The house, and the house next door, were both vacant. The house that caught fire was under construction by the owner, Takacs said.
The fire was contained to the first floor of the house and was under control at 3:04 a.m. The flames never threatened other structures and no one was injured, Takacs said.
The arson units from the police and fire departments are investigating the blaze, Takacs said.
