Michele Bowes will fill the vacancy created by the April resignation of Glenn Collins.
LAWRENCE -- A social worker and life coach has been selected to fill a vacancy on the township school board.
Michele Bowes will fill the vacancy created by the April resignation of Glenn Collins, the board said on an announcement.
Bowes was chosen from seven applicants. She will serve until November of this year, at which time she can run for the one year left on the vacated term, or run for one of three three-year term positions that also will be on the ballot, the board said.
Bowes is a per-diem social worker at St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center in the township and works as a life coach.
She and her husband moved to Lawrence in 2007. They have two children in the school system, in fourth and sixth grades.
Collins, a board member since January 2015, resigned for personal reasons, the board said in a statement. No further explanation was given.
