Jamar McCoy's second bail hearing was held Monday after a possible conflict of interest delayed his case
TRENTON - Accused killer Jamar McCoy's case is going forward despite a glitch in his representation last week.
A Superior Court judge maintained McCoy's bail at $1 million during McCoy's second bail hearing Monday morning.
McCoy is accused of shooting 26-year-old Jermaine Johnson to death on Hillcrest Avenue in late April.
Witnesses at the scene identified McCoy as the shooter and video surveillance showed him fleeing in a car, Mercer County prosecutors have said.
The hearing was his second in a week after a potential conflict of interest came up at a hearing last Wednesday.

During the initial hearing, Public Defender Caroline Turner, who was expected to handle McCoy's case, said she didn't know if it would be possible. She said Johnson is the brother of another defendant she's representing in a separate case.
The connection posed a conflict of interest for her and the Public Defender's Office, she said.
Turner said Tuesday that she was no longer representing McCoy. Attorney Jason Matey handled McCoy's case Monday.
