TRENTON - A man who told police he heard gunfire Saturday night, was sent to the hospital for a stab wound to his back, according to Trenton police.
Police were sent to the scene on the 200 block of Passaic Street in Trenton around 11:15 p.m. Saturday for the report of shots fired.
There they found a man with a wound to his back. The man told police he was outside when he heard gunfire, Trenton police Lt. Stephen Varn said.
The man said he didn't see anyone but that when he went into his residence, he felt a pain in his back. Police sent the man to the hospital after seeing a wound in his back.
There, investigators discovered that the man had actually been stabbed.
Police could not discuss specifics of the case Sunday, including whether or not shots had been fired.
