The girl said the incident happened early Thursday morning and, when she went to investigate, the man fled

PRINCETON - A Princeton University student was awakened early Thursday by a man tampering with her dorm window, according to the university's Public Safety Department.

Officers are still looking for the man - who is described as light skinned with dark hair, glasses and a grey sweatshirt.

The student told officers she was asleep in her dorm room in Little Hall around 1:30 a.m., when she was awakened by the sound of someone tampering with her window, the statement said.

She went to the window and saw the man, who she believes was college-aged. The man fled the area and officers were not able to find him Thursday morning.

Officers are calling it an attempted burglary.

In April, two incidents were reported where students saw a man - or two separate men - peering into dorm windows. It was not clear if Thursday's incident is related.

In the first April case, the man was described as tall and unshaven with dark colored pants. In the second April case, the man was described as husky with brown hair and glasses.

Public Safety officers are asking that anyone who sees another similar incident, call the department at (609) 258-1000.
