The Rite Aid in Yardville was also robbed on March 24 by a male who ulted the pharmacy counter.
HAMILTON -- The description and actions of the masked man who robbed the Rite Aid pharmacy in Yardville last week with a taser match a similar crime at the store in March, police said Tuesday.
On May 4, a male entered the South Broad Street store at about 9 p.m. and threatened an employee in an aisle and displayed and activated a taser before vaulting the pharmacy counter and demanding Xanax and Percocet pills, police said last week.
After getting a quantity of both pills, the man left the store and entered a dark-colored, small, two-door vehicle that fled south on South Broad Street toward Allentown.
The subject wore blue jeans, a black long-sleeve shirt, black gloves and a black stocking on his head.
On March 24 at 8:45 p.m., a man entered the pharmacy and also displayed a taser and ran right to the pharmacy counter and demanded the same type of pills, Hamilton police Detective Lt. Jeffrey Martin said Tuesday.
Hamilton police did not publicize the March robbery.
Martin said the robber also jumped the pharmacy counter in March and wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black mask.
Martin said detectives strongly suspect the same person committed both hold-ups, but no arrests have been made.
Both robberies were recorded on Rite Aid's security system and detectives are studying the footage.
