Another man ran from police and is still being sought, police said
TRENTON - A Trenton man was arrested and charged after he and another man were found taking copper pipes from an abandoned house, police said.
Rubin Williams, 31, was charged with burglary, theft, hindering and six outstanding warrants Friday after police received a tip that two men were taking copper pipes from an empty house on the first block of West Street, Lt. Stephen Varn said.
Officers arrived at the house and found a bag with copper pipes sticking out of it at the back of the house. Both doors to the garage also were open. A man in a black hoodie ran out, and another was seen walking away from the garage in the opposite direction, Varn said.
One man, Williams, was caught. A K-9 unit was brought in to track the other man, who was never found, Varn said.
Williams' bail was set at $50,000, according to police records.
