New age alternative medicine advocate Deepak Chopra was guest lecturer at Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton.
New York Times best-selling author and alternative medicine advocate Deepak Chopra may have been born and raised in India, but he has roots in New Jersey.
After spending his first six months as a physician treating rural villagers in his native country, he came to America and completed his internship at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield.
"It was a time when many American doctors were in Vietnam and I received a letter that I had been awarded a position I had never applied for," Chopra related at the start of of his talk last evening at Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton.
His lecture was titled "The Future of Wellbeing - A Consciousness based approach to Health & Wellbeing."

Earlier in the afternoon there was a stroll through the grounds led by its founder Seward Johnson, his wife Cecelia Joyce Johnson and GFS Executive Director Gary Garrido Schneider. Chopra willingly posed for pictures with some of the sculptures, including many he asked to be taken using his own cell phone.
A special Meet & Greet reception preceded the evening talk which was followed by a question and answer session with the sold out audience of 300.
The lecture was made possible in part by Cecelia Joyce and Seward Johnson, Susan and John Johnson, India Blake and Elliot Che, and the Atlantic Foundation and was part of the GFS speaker series focusing on creativity and wellness.
