Keith Jones, 49, was arrested and charged with attempted murder in shooting that sent two to a local hospital
TRENTON - A Trenton man was arrested minutes after police say he shot his mother in the chest and his girlfriend multiple times inside a house in a Chambersburg neighborhood Wednesday.
Keith Jones, 49, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and weapons charges around 4 p.m. Wednesday as he left the scene of the Conrad Street shooting that sent the two women to a local hospital, Lt. Stephen Varn said.
Jones' mother, 67, was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton where she received emergency surgery. She was listed in critical condition in Intensive Care at Capital Health Regional, Varn said.
Jones' girlfriend, 33, was shot in the face, arm, torso and leg. She also was taken to Capital Health Regional. Her condition was not immediately known Thursday.
Jones was charged with two counts of attempted murder and weapons offenses. His bail was set at $2 million, according to police records.
Trenton man threatens woman with gun
Jones last year was charged with holding a gun to the head of an infant, beating and threatening to kill the child's mother, police have said.
Jones in the May 2, 2015, incident was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, child endangerment and weapons offenses, police have said.
Jones had come to the couple's home on the first block of Conrad Street to find his girlfriend - the child's mother - with another man, police have said.
The child was unharmed. Jones then ran out the house and was arrested when he returned, police have said.
