Police were alerted to the 2:50 p.m. shooting on Passaic Street, but when officers arrived, they found no victims.
TRENTON -- A man was undergoing emergency surgery Tuesday evening after being shot on Passaic Street Tuesday afternoon, Trenton police said.
Police were alerted to the 2:50 p.m. shooting, but when officers arrived in the 100 block of the street, they found no victims, a police spokesman said.
Officers did find evidence of a shooting and damage to a residence cause by gunfire, police said.
A short time later, a male suffering multiple gunshot wounds arrived at St. Francis Medical Center.
Police said the victim, who they did not identify, was stabilized and taken to the trauma unit at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, in the city.
The city's joint Shooting Response Team is investigating the incident.
