Jamar McCoy, 32, of Ewing, faces murder and related charges and is being held on $1 million bail
TRENTON -- Detectives arrested a Ewing man early Sunday on murder and related charges in the shooting death of a man and pistol-whipping another man Friday on a Trenton street.
Jamar McCoy, 32, of the 1100 block of Lower Ferry Road, is charged with killing Jermaine Johnson and beating his brother Jayshawn Johnson, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said.
Police responding to a 4 p.m. call of a shooting in progress on the first block of Hillcrest Avenue near Cadwalader Park found Jermaine Johnson, 26, of Trenton, with multiple gunshot wounds. He died a short time later at a Trenton hospital.

The prosecutor's office said Sunday that McCoy also allegedly pistol-whipped Jayshawn Johnson. No other information was released.
McCoy is charged with murder, aggravated assault, and weapons offenses. He is currently being held on $1 million bail. The Mercer County Homicide Task Force is investigating.
