The threat, police said, was similar to numerous other unfounded threats received by schools in Princeton and facilities around New Jersey last school year

Two area schools received bomb threats Friday, causing the evacuation of one school and the lockdown of another, police said.

The Riverside Elementary School in Princeton was locked down Thursday morning after the school received an unfounded bomb threat call, Princeton police said.

The threat, police said, was similar to numerous other unfounded threats received by schools in Princeton and facilities around New Jersey last school year.

A computerized call, received by the school's front office at 10:17 a.m., said there was a bomb inside the school, police said.

Princeton police, assisted by a bomb-sniffing dog, searched the school. No bomb was found.

Classes resumed as normal about a half-hour later, police said.

The incident is being investigated by Detective Ben Gering, police said.

Allentown High School was evacuated after a bomb threat there was received around 12 p.m., State Police said.

There was no immediate information about the nature of the threat, but students and faculty were evacuated while a State Police bomb squad and a bomb-sniffing dog scoured the building, Captain Brian Jones said.

By 1 p.m., police were still investigating, Jones said.
