Najir Tripp, 21, was charged with a shooting last month that injured a Trenton man on Southard Street
TRENTON - A Trenton man was arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting that injured one man last month in the North Ward, police said Monday.
Najir Tripp, 21, was charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses Saturday around 1:45 p.m. He was arrested by Ewing police and transferred to Trenton for an outstanding warrant in connection with a March 3 shooting on the 900 block of Southard Street, Lt. Stephen Varn said.
There was no immediate information on the Ewing arrest, Varn said.
A warrant was issued for Tripp for the March 3 shooting that sent a 20-year-old man to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the thigh, police have said.
The man told police at the time that a dark-colored car drove past him around 8:20 p.m. and someone inside opened fire, police have said.
The man was treated for his injuries and released.
Tripp's cash bail was set at $120,000, according to police records.
