Brandon Phoenix punched, kicked and began strangling his girlfriend during a fight, police said.
TRENTON - A Trenton man wanted in the the beating of his girlfriend was charged Monday with assault, police said.
Brandon Phoenix, 27, was arrested by officers Kanifa Wood and Richardo Tibere on the 100 block of Mott Street round 7:30 p.m. in connection with the March 7 incident, Lt. Stephen Varn said.
Phoenix was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest. His bail was set at $35,000, according to court records.
Police were called to the 100 block of Randall Avenue around 4:30 p.m. March 7 on a report of domestic violence, Varn said.
The victim, a 27-year-old woman, said she and Phoenix were arguing when he grabbed her by the shirt and began punching her in the face. He also kicked her several times and began strangling her before he ran out of the house, Varn said.
