NnaNna Akuma, 23, is charged with several firearm and drug charges following in incident at Greenwood Village Apartments.
HAMILTON -- Police have identified a man arrested on gun and drug charges near the Greenwood Village Apartments last week following a shooting.
On Friday March 25, police were dispatched to Erman Court in the complex off Greenwood Avenue for a report of gunfire, Hamilton police said.
Officers encountered an man, later identified as NnaNna Akuma, who ran from the scene when he saw the officers, dropping a black backpack as he took off, police said.
After a brief foot chase, officers apprehended Akuma, 23.
Officers found a handgun at the scene and numerous packets of suspected narcotics, and Akuma was later charged with weapon possession charges, drug dealing charges and obstructing the administration of law.
Investigators also found four vehicles with apparent bullet strikes. No injuries were reported from the shooting, police said.
Police did not say if they suspect Akuma of being the shooter who damaged the vehicles.
Akuma was initially held on $50,000.00 Full.
Hamilton officers Chester Embley, Jason Moulds, Timothy Wilkes and Sean Mattis were the first responders who made the arrest.
Akuma is awaiting trial in Bucks County, Pa. for burglary, terroristic threats and criminal trespass charges stemming from an incident in Falls, Pa. in August 2015, court records show.
The news website levittownnow.com reported Akuma allegedly broke down the door of a trailer park home and threatened a woman who owed him drug money.
When police arrived they found a silver Jetta with New Jersey plates parked in front of the residence and Akuma exiting through the front door, the report said.
