Dozens of love locks have been popping up on the scenic overlook over Interstate 295

It's no Paris or Rome, but love has found its way onto the scenic overlook over Interstate 295 near Bordentown.

Padlocks have been popping up on the metal fence of the pedestrian bridge recently and now number 112.

The love locks, some gold and dual-tone, others with names and dates written or engraved, are meant to symbolize everlasting love that can't be broken.

Bridges all over the world boast them and a local couple decided to attach a love lock to the I-295 bridge after visiting the Pont des Arts bridge in Paris.

"With a quick visit to the Scenic Overlook back in 2014, we locked our love and threw the keys into the Delaware River," the couple wrote in an Instagram post.

They started an account, "scenicoverlocks," to share pictures of other locks that people have left.

Meanwhile in Paris, the weight of the locks were to blame in the collapse of a chunk of fencing and eventually prompted city officials to remove 45 tons of padlocks last June.
