Princeton University is the latest school to find the messages on printers across their campus in the past few hours
PRINCETON - Princeton University public safety officials are investigating after fliers bearing anti-Semitic messages were found in several printers across campus Thursday and Friday, according to a statement from the school.
The single-page fliers had a link to a neo-Nazi website as well as other derogatory language, according to university spokesperson Daniel Day.
A copy of the message, obtained by the University Press Club, is addressed to "white man" and asks readers to join in a, "struggle for global white supremacy," according to the flier.
Around five fliers were found Thursday and a few more were found Friday morning - making the total number of fliers that were reported around seven or eight, Day said.
Public Safety officers and members of the Office of Information Technology are working to determine where the messages came from, the statement said. Day said they do not know whether the fliers came from an off-campus source.
"Princeton regards any actions making the atmosphere intimidating, threatening or hostile to individuals as serious offenses," Michele Minter, vice provost for institutional equity and inclusion said in the statement.
The announcement comes just hours after similar incidents were reported at universities around the country.
DePaul University is investigating after an anti-Semitic flier was found on several printers around campus Thursday, according to reports.
Early Friday morning reports said that both Smith College and the University of Massachusetts found similar anti-Semitic fliers in printers across their campuses. Those flyers had originated off campus, according to reports.
Princeton University is asking that anyone with information on the fliers come forward or call Public Safety at (609) 258-1000.
