Robbinsville St. Patrick's Day Parade joins Irish and Indian communities

Mercer County had 3 St. Patrick's Day parades. First was the Hamilton parade on Sat. March 12.Trenton's parade took place on Sun. March 13 .

ROBBINSVILLE - With a theme of "Service to Others," the Robbinsville Irish Heritage Association's St. Patrick's Day Parade - in its seventh year - was held on Saturday, March 19 at 1 p.m. starting at the Foxmoor Shopping Center.

The day began with a Catholic mass at nearby St. Gregory the Great Church in Hamilton at 10am. Opening ceremonies followed and the marching began at 1pm. There was even an official after-parade party beginning at 2:30pm at the church's Ferrante Hall.

Hari Patel served as Grand Marshal and Mike Langford was named Irish Person of the Year. Both have long records of community service.

Since 2005, Hari Patel as been a volunteer with BAPS (Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha), a socio-spiritual Hindu organization with its roots in the Vedas.

Michael Langford was recently recognized by the HS lacrosse coaches of the Colonial Valley Conference as "Man of the Year" in 2015 for his work in Robbinsville Township and the Mercer County community.

The Robbinsville Irish Heritage Association is a volunteer organization chartered to foster an understanding and appreciation of Irish cultural values based in Robbinsville, New Jersey.
