Damien Beckett was charged with gun offenses and a raft of other charges after police saw him littering on a city street
TRENTON - Damien Beckett was caught littering and Trenton police locked him up on gun charges, authorities said.
Beckett, 21, was spotted by police littering on the corner of East Hanover and Stockton streets around 9:30 p.m. Friday and police moved to write him a citation, Lt. Stephen Varn said.
Beckett ran. Police chased. Beckett threw out a handgun while he ran before police caught up with him on the 200 block of Academy Street, Varn said.
Beckett was charged with weapons offenses, resisting arrest, hindering, obstruction and an outstanding warrant. His bail was set at $50,000, Varn said.
