Police believe the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
HOPEWELL - A woman may have fallen asleep at the wheel Saturday when her car crossed over a center line and hit two other vehicles in oncoming traffic, police said.
The driver, Kelly Moraski, 34, of Lambertville, suffered non-life threatening injuries after the crash Saturday morning.
Moraski was driving northbound on River Road near River Knoll Drive around 5:30 a.m. Saturday when she crossed over the center line and side swiped a southbound car driven by 47-year-old James Paolini, police said in a statement.
Moraski's car continued traveling the wrong lane until it hit another southbound car driven by 55-year-old John Lyons, almost head on, police said.
Lyons had minor injuries as a result of the crash but he declined medical treatment. Paolini did not have injuries from the crash, police said.
Police said that Moraski may have fallen asleep at the wheel. They issued her a summons for careless driving.
The section of River Road surrounding the accident was closed in both directions for over an hour Saturday morning while police investigated the crash.
