Trenton man charged with murder of 29-year-old last year
TRENTON - A Trenton man has been indicted on murder charges in the shooting death of 29-year-old Harvey Sharp, authorities said Thursday.
Horace Gordon, 36, was indicted by a Mercer County grand jury last week on a single count of first-degree murder and weapons charges, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said.
Trenton police responded to the first block of Cummings Avenue around 12 a.m. on June 24, 2015, on a report of a man shot. Officers located the victim, later identified as Sharp, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, where he died of his injuries, prosecutors said.
Gordon was charged with Sharp's murder the next day, following an investigation by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force. Gordon was arrested in southern Virginia on July 2, 2015, by U.S. Marshals. He is jailed in lieu of $1 million bail.
