Voters rejected three of the nine budgets in Hamilton and also defeated three public questions.
HAMILTON -- Voters in three Hamilton fire districts voted against approving the annual budget and the three public questions in two districts were also defeated.
The budgets in districts 2, 4 and 7 were rejected, as well as questions in districts 4 and 7 -- both which wanted voters to approve exceeding the 2 percent increase on their tax levy.
Districts with defeated budgets will appear before the township council in the near future.
In the results listed below commissioner races are unopposed, unless noted.

District 1 - Union Fire Co. Crosswicks
Budget approved 28 to 9.
Eric J. Campbell elected to a three-year term and Martin A. Galullo to a one-year unexpired term by votes of 33 to 0.
The district is located in Chesterfield, Burlington County, but collects taxes from a small portion of Hamilton it covers.
District 2 - Mercerville Fire Co.
Budget defeated 96 to 72
Scott Fairfax elected to a three-year term 107 to 2.
Ronald Lisciandrello elected to a one-year unexpired term 110 to 2
District 3 - Rusling Fire Co.
Budget approved 38 to 31
James R. Gramigna elected to a three-year term with 42 votes.
Joseph T. Zalescik elected to a three-year term with 49 votes.
A total of 70 people voted in the election.
District 4 - Hamilton Fire Co.
Budget defeated 73 to 38
Keith R. Lesslie elected to a three-year term with 66 votes.
Richard E. Coleman Jr. elected to a three-year term with 61 votes.
The question asking whether the district should exceed the mandated 2 percent cap on the tax levy by 4.3 percent, or $106,891, to maintain salaries and health benefits, was defeated 71 to 35.

District 5 - DeCou Fire Co.
Budget approved 51 to 38
Jonathan Tomko elected to a three-year term 76 to 0.
District 6 - White Horse Fire Co.
Budget approved 153 to 78.
Michael Sanna defeated Kenneth Dean 147 to 65 for the one-year unexpired term as commissioner.
Leonard Pope elected for a three-year term with 168 votes.
District 7 - Nottingham Fire Co.
Budget defeated 321 to 183
Adam Bendas elected to a three-year term with 306 votes.
John Marcucci elected to a three-year term with 325 votes.
David Maher received 44 votes as a write-in candidate.
Voters defeated both public questions.
The question asking if the district should exceed the mandated 2 percent cap on the tax levy by .0463 percent, or $170,000, to add a battalion chief position, was rejected 354 to 144.
Also on the district ballot is a question asking voters if the district should appropriate $81,859 from a restricted fund and apply it toward the 2016 budget. The question was defeated 271 to 224.
District 8 - Colonial Fire Co.
Budget approved 47 to 23.
Patricia Willever elected to a three-year term with 58 votes.
Brian E. Moss elected to a three-year term with 59 votes.
District 9 - Groveville Fire Co.
Budget approved 79 to 55
William DiMeo elected to a three-year term.
