Officers investigated a bomb threat at Joyce Kilmer Elementary School Wednesday, the second threat in two days at the school and the fourth in the district
TRENTON - Trenton police Wednesday morning investigated the fourth bomb threat to the city's public schools in two days, authorities said.
Officers at 10:19 a.m. were sent to Joyce Kilmer Elementary School, 1300 Stuyvesant Ave., to investigate a bomb threat, Lt. Stephen Varn said.
A call was received by school office staff saying the school was going to "blow up," Varn said.
The school was evacuated and bomb-sniffing dogs were brought in. No bomb was found and children and staff were let back in the building, Varn said.
It was the second threat targeting the elementary school in two days. The first was received around 3 p.m. Tuesday, the last of three threats to Trenton public schools that day.
The first threat came in around 10 a.m. at Daylight/Twilight High School on Edgewood Avenue. That threat was received by office staff, who said it was a recorded message, Varn said.

The second was around 1 p.m. at Grace A. Dunn Middle School on Dayton Street. In that threat a caller said that the school was going to "blow up," Varn said.
It was not immediately known if Kilmer Elementary was evacuated Wednesday, Varn said.
Last year, numerous "swatting" incidents -- hoax threats designed to elicit a large police response -- gripped police departments throughout the state, including many in Mercer County.
