JOINT BASE MCGUIRE DIX LAKEHURST - Military explosives experts at the Joint Base on Tuesday detonated an unexploded bomb found on the Lakehurst side of the base, causing ground to shake in surrounding communities, officials said.
The 87th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team was called Tuesday to the Lakehurst side of the base when the bomb was found and warned surrounding communities around 9 p.m. to expect to hear a loud boom and that the ground may shake.

"We thank everyone for your patience as our EOD team executes this important mission," base officials said in a Facebook post.
