A Honda CRV driven by Richard Yager, 72, of Hopewell Township, was driving westbound on West Broad Street when, for an unknown reason, he veered left, crossed the center line and struck the front of a Ford Expedition, police said.

Yager, who was issued a summons for failure to maintain lane, was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton.

The Ford's driver, Sharon Staats-Savage, 57, of Montgomery, and her two passengers -- June Staats, 84, and Francis Staats, 90 -- were all taken to University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro.

None of the injuries appear to be serious, police said.

A Chrysler Town and Country driven by 20-year-old Kristen Schuyler, of Manville, rear-ended the Ford when it stopped abruptly, but she was not injured, police said.

The 3:57 p.m. crash closed West Broad Street between North Greenwood Avenue and Louellen Street for about an hour.

The crash is being investigated by Officer James Hoffman.
