TRENTON -- A woman accused of bludgeoning her mother-in-law to death last week in East Windsor is scheduled to appear in Mercer County Superior Court Thursday.

A defendant will normally appear via video camera, not in person, for a bail hearing.
It's the first court date since Diwan was arrested Saturday in Atlantic City.
Prosecutors said Diwan fled East Windsor last week after bludgeoning her mother-in-law, Safia Diwan, to death with an unknown object in the Mozart Court home they shared.
Authorities spent days looking for Tasneem Diwan after finding 73-year-old Safia Diwan's body in a front office of the home on Jan. 26.
Tasneem Diwan was arrested in a casino bus terminal in Atlantic City Friday night and taken back to East Windsor where she was questioned and charged Saturday morning, prosecutor's have said.
It was unknown if Diwan has an attorney. The records department in the Mercer County Superior Court said Diwan has not been assigned a public defender at this point.
