The girl's mother told police she suspected her daughter was sexually assaulted on Sunday
TRENTON - A Trenton man was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl, police said Wednesday.

No further information about the incident was immediately available.
The girl's mother told police that she suspected her daughter had been sexually assaulted. Johnson is not related to the girl, Varn said.
Detective Matthew Halaycio investigated, resulting in charges for Johnson, who is not related to the girl, Varn said.
Johnson was arrested on Monday on the 1000 block of Spruce St., Varn said.
Johnson's bail was set at $75,000, according to police records.
