LeadingAge New Jersey, which helps to advance quality, independent living for seniors, moved its headquarters to Hamilton recently.

HAMILTON -- LeadingAge New Jersey - which works to advance independent living for seniors - recently relocated to Hamilton from West Windsor.

The organization moved into University Plaza II on Quakerbridge Road and held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house with local officials.

LeadingAge CEO Michele Kent said 50 people, including Hamilton Mayor Kelly Yaede, state officials and others made appearances.

"Our new central location in Hamilton will allow us to better serve our members and give them greater access to our staff and all of our resources," Kent said.

LeadingAge New Jersey works to advance policies, promote practices and conduct research that supports, enables and empowers people to live fully while they age, the organization says.

Kent said with "10,000 baby boomers turning 65 each day," the nonprofit's goal of getting seniors set up with quality long-term care is "more critical than ever."

LeadingAge Chairman of the Board of Trustees Kate Shepard said moving headquarters from West Windsor to Hamilton - an area thriving in business - is one of several changes the nonprofit recently underwent to ensure better services.

"Along with the recent hiring of Executive Vice President Michele Mount and Housing Consultant Mary Ann Diak-Stern, our new headquarters is another component that will strengthen LeadingAge New Jersey's mission to advocate for quality care for New Jersey elders," Shepard said.

Mount said in addition to several employee offices, LeadingAge purchased a conference room for the nonprofit's board, committee and task force meetings.

"We are really excited with our new office space and look forward to serving our members and advocating for quality care to New Jersey's seniors," Mount said.
