Chili Cook-Off heats up Winter Festival in New Hope (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

NEW HOPE - Things are warming up following this past weekend's winter storm and the hottest place to be in New Hope Sunday was Triumph Brewing Company for The Nineteenth Annual Chili Cook-Off.

The popular culinary competition is billed as featuring the tastiest, tangiest and most original chili created by the finest local restaurants and accompanied by local beers.

This year, the clear favorite was the home team. Triumph Brewing Company took 1st place Judge's Choice Award and also 2nd place People's Choice honors.

Havana Restaurant and Bar, of New Hope won the 1st place People's Choice award.

Entrants included, from New Jersey, The Lambertville Station and SweetGrass Restaurant, of Hopewel. The rest hailed from Pa. Triumph Brewing Company, Havana and bitter Bob's from New Hope and Jericho National Golf Club -Upper Makefield, Now That's Italian - Coopersburg, Chive Cafe - Lahaska and Moo - Ottsville. 

The Chili-Cookoff capped a week of Lambertville-New Hope Winter Festival 2016 events that began Saturday, January 23 with an outdoor sculpture design competition and included various other events such as a gallery crawl, pancake breakfast and musical attractions.

The Winter Festival is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, with proceeds from the Winter Festival directly benefiting a number of local community organizations on both sides of the Delaware River.
