EAST WINDSOR - A 73-year-old woman was found bludgeoned to death inside an East Windsor home late Tuesday and police are looking for a family member in connection with the homicide, authorities said Wednesday.
Safia Diwan was found dead in a front, home office of a house on Mozart Court just after 7:30 p.m. following a 911 call. It appears Diwan was bludgeoned, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said there was no sign of forced entry into the upscale house on a quiet street. Yellow police tape surrounded the house and a police cruiser was parked outside Wednesday morning.
Authorities are looking for Tasneem Diwan, 45, also of Mozart Court, in connection with the homicide. Diwan drives a green 2000 Nissan Quest minivan with New Jersey plate number JYY16P, prosecutors said.
Authorities did not immediately say how Tasneem Diwan is related to Safia Diwan.
Anyone who sees Tasneem Diwan is asked to contact police and should not attempt to approach her, prosecutors said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Mercer County Homicide Task Force at (609) 610-6694 or the East Windsor Township Police Department at (609) 448-5678.

Man stabbed to death with kitchen knife in East Windsor
The investigation into Diwan's death is the first homicide investigation in East Windsor since Carlos Tinizhanay-Arias was stabbed in the Windsor Arms apartments in April 2013.
Tinizhanay-Arias' death was also the first in three years when it happened.
Christian Lemus-Estrada, 20, a Guatemalan native, was convicted of Tinizhanay-Arias' killing in 2014 and sentenced to 25 years in prison on aggravated manslaughter charges.
