LAWRENCE - A gunman forced his way into an apartment for the second time in six days and police believe they are looking for the same man in both invasions, authorities said.

No one was injured in the 9:45 a.m. incident at an apartment in building 2 of the Avalon Run apartment complex, police said.

Just as in the previous home invasion on Sept. 9, there was a knock at the door and when a resident opened the front door a man with a gun forced his way into the home, police said.

The gunman then forced the resident and three roommates into a rear room of the apartment and left within 10 minutes, taking nothing, police said.

In the Sept. 9 invasion on an apartment in building 6 of the same complex, the resident was forced at gunpoint to withdraw money from nearby ATM and then was dropped off, unharmed, in Trenton, police have said.

In both instances, police are looking for a black man between 20-25 years old, standing 5-foot, 10-inches to 6-feet tall with a thin but muscular build. The gunman had a medium-dark complexion and was clean shaven. The suspect was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt, a black baseball hat, light colored blue jeans, and work boots, police said.

The two incidents are similar to a home invasion that occurred Aug. 12 in the same apartment complex where two men held another victim at knifepoint and ransacked his home before forcing him to withdraw money at two ATMs. That victim, too, was dropped in Trenton while the duo fled on foot, police said.

Righteous Laster, a 19-year-old Trenton man, was arrested on a dozen charges in connection with the robbery, carjacking and kidnapping, but the second suspect still remained at large.

Police Lt. Joseph Amodio has said the composite sketches are a little different, but said it could be the same suspect.
