Winter Festival is a nine-day festival in Lambertville and New Hope, and Saturday's events include the parade and the Fire and Ice Ball.

It's still too early to say for sure, but the National Weather Service is saying there is a 50-percent chance of snow on Saturday, the day of the annual Winter Festival parade, scheduled to begin at noon.

Winter Festival is a nine-day festival in Lambertville and New Hope, and Saturday's events include the parade and the Fire and Ice Ball. The parade begins at the New Hope Solebury High School and crosses the Free Bridge into Lamberville.

"A flurry or light snow would be magical for a winter festival parade, but the bands and antiques cars are unable to participate if its too cold or the weather is too wet," Marianne Romano of the Winter Festival Board of Directors said in an email sent out Monday morning. "Keeping our fingers crossed. ... Hopefully the forecast for next Saturday will revert back to what it was yesterday, sunny and 38.

"Lets all go out side and do a blue sky and sunshine dance."

Romano said the board will be working closely with public officials to make a decision on if the parade will continue as planned or have to be rescheduled to Saturday, Jan. 30. A decision will be made by noon Thursday.

The current forecast calls for a 60-percent chance of snow Friday night and 50-percent on Saturday, with the possibility of windy conditions causing blowing and drifting snow.
